SAFE HOUSE ACCOMMODATION

Domestic Abuse is the actual or threatened physical, emotional, psychological, sexual or financial abuse of a person by their partner, family member or someone with whom there is, or has been, a close relationship. Domestic Abuse also relates to allowing or causing a child to witness domestic abuse

Each Individual experiencing domestic violence have different needs, there is no single package of service to meet those needs, no `one size fits all`. Instead PLO will advise on services and offer a range of support which will increase the choice individuals have and offer them the appropriate support to access services whatever their situation.

We offer emergency & temporary accommodation to individuals who are leaving domestic abuse situations in safe environments. We offer emergency accommodation in shared safe homes. Individuals are offered a private bedsitting room with shared use of all communal facilities. Each private bedsitting room is fully furnished with beds, linen and towels, wardrobe, chest of drawers, chairs, tea/coffee making facilities, TV. and fridge.

We offer Advice and Support to Access:

Health Services

Counselling and befriending services

Suitable nurseries and schools for children

Support and Housing Benefits

Legal advice, including accompanying individuals to appointments and courts

Future training, education and employment opportunities

Finding permanent housing in a preferred community

The length of Stay may vary, depending on individual circumstances, and can range from 1 week to 1 year.

All our homes meet the Local Housing Management Standards, with a special emphasis on security and safety measures. Our homes are assessed by `Homesafe` and all relevant work is carried out to maximise the safety and security of the home.
